Uncontrolled neural stem cell proliferation affects larval survival during dietary nutrient withdrawal.

چکیده

Regulated stem cell proliferation during development is critical to produce and organize all the types required in adult organism. In some developing organisms that experience intermittent periods of starvation, physiology adapts dynamically, presumably ensure optimal development. Drosophila brain, there are two populations neuroblasts (neural cells) respond differently dietary nutrient starvation: one subtype sensitive systemic levels ceases dividing, while other continues divide regardless availability. Previous work has shown this behavior mediated by a cell-intrinsic genetic program involving Eyeless myc transcription factors. We set out understand whether arrest neuroblast plays role larval survival starvation. forced brain continue proliferate withdrawal overexpressing measured over time. Larvae with abnormal enforced died at faster rate than control larvae, suggesting for Our results consistent idea which their involved reallocating nutrients persistently dividing form nervous system sparing.

Alpha-Tocopherol increases the proliferation of induced pluripotent stem cell derived neural progenitor cells

In addition to its antioxidant effect, Vitamin E or α–tocopherol is suggested to enhance remyelination in the animal model of non-inflammatory demyelination. In this study, the possible proliferative effect of vitamin E on human- induced pluripotent stem cell-derived neural progenitors (hiPS-NPs) and the underlying mechanisms were investigated in vitro. NPs were induced from iPS cells via 3 ste...

Short communication: The effect of different concentrations of methylprednisolone on survival, proliferation and migration of neural stem/progenitor cells

Introduction: To address the question whether combination of methylprednisolone (MP) as an anti-inflammatory drug used in neurodegenerative diseases and neural stem/progenitor cells (NS/PCs) is safe, the present study was designed. Methods: Embryonic rat NS/PCs were exposed to different concentrations of MP and survival by MTT assay, proliferation by analyzing the number and diameter of neuro...

Kuwanon V Inhibits Proliferation, Promotes Cell Survival and Increases Neurogenesis of Neural Stem Cells

Neural stem cells (NSCs) have the ability to proliferate and differentiate into neurons and glia. Regulation of NSC fate by small molecules is important for the generation of a certain type of cell. The identification of small molecules that can induce new neurons from NSCs could facilitate regenerative medicine and drug development for neurodegenerative diseases. In this study, we screened nat...

NogoR1 and PirB signaling stimulates neural stem cell survival and proliferation.

Neural stem cells (NSCs) and neural progenitors (NPs) in the mammalian neocortex give rise to the main cell types of the nervous system. The biological behavior of these NSCs and NPs is regulated by extracellular niche derived autocrine-paracrine signaling factors on a developmental timeline. Our previous reports [Plos One 2010;5:e15341; J Neurochem 2011;117:565-578] have shown that chondroitin...

Macrophage migration inhibitory factor (MIF) promotes cell survival and proliferation of neural stem/progenitor cells.

In a previous study, we showed that murine dendritic cells (DCs) can increase the number of neural stem/progenitor cells (NSPCs) in vitro and in vivo. In the present study, we identified macrophage migration inhibitory factor (MIF) as a novel factor that can support the proliferation and/or survival of NSPCs in vitro. MIF is secreted by DCs and NSPCs, and its function in the normal brain remain...
